How links work

Every item on Rank Anything can link to its website. Whether that link passes SEO value is earned, not automatic — these are the rules, in full.

Question 01

Do items on Rank Anything link to my website?

Yes. Every item can include a link to its official website, shown on the item's page. Anyone who discovers your item — in a list, in search, or on the item page itself — can click straight through.

Question 02

Are the links dofollow?

Not at first. A new item's link carries rel="ugc", which tells search engines it is user-submitted content and passes no ranking credit. The link becomes a regular dofollow link once the item has at least 2 reviews with an average rating of at least 3 out of 5 stars.

Question 03

How do I earn the dofollow link?

Get reviewed. Rating your own item counts, but you need at least 2 reviews — so invite at least one other person who has genuinely used what you're listing to rate it honestly. Once the item crosses the threshold, the link switches to dofollow automatically.

Question 04

Why isn't every link dofollow?

Because then no link here would be worth anything. When dofollow links are free, a site fills up with link-drop spam, search engines stop trusting its endorsements, and the links lose their value for everyone — including honest creators. Gating dofollow on real engagement keeps Rank Anything's endorsements credible, which is exactly what makes the link worth earning.

Question 05

Do featured listings get a dofollow link?

No — featuring buys visibility, not link equity. A featured (sponsored) listing goes live immediately and appears above non-sponsored items, but while the placement runs its link carries rel="sponsored", the label search engines require for paid placements. Reviews the item earns while featured count toward the regular threshold like anyone else's, so it can still earn its dofollow link the normal way. (Placements purchased before 12 July 2026 were sold with a dofollow link and keep it until they expire.)
